Advocacy, Fallout and Allegations of Influence in Montcalm

Evidence of County Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Adam Petersen's, Hypocrisy and Vile attitude.

In small communities, the lines between media, business and government can become blurred. In Montcalm County, a series of events involving local personalities, public officials and media advocacy continues to raise serious questions about influence, accountability and the cost of speaking out.

My engagement with local government has extended beyond the city level to the county stage. After being named a finalist for a County Commissioner appointment, the position was ultimately awarded to Jack Johnson, a known friend of Chairman Pat Carr. This decision, following the resignation of Scott Painter, raised concerns about whether the outcome had been predetermined.

Subsequent appearances before the county board led to disputes over public comment procedures. In one instance, Chairman Pat Carr cut off my remarks prematurely and later confronted me in an aggressive manner while barking like a dog, an interaction that was captured on camera. The incident added to broader concerns about the Mr. Carr’s temperament and compliance with open meetings laws, concerns that were further underscored by a lawsuit once filed against the board by its own clerk.

Tensions have escalated further with Montcalm County Commissioner and Vice Chair Adam Petersen, who also serves on the Montcalm Township Fire Board. He has been associated with decisions affecting community partnerships and event participation. Disagreements over initiatives such as “Stuff-A-Bus 2025,” (a donation drive intended to support individuals affected by fire or accidental tragedy) along with internal judgments about character and conduct, have deepened divisions among local stakeholders. He has also made derogatory remarks in an article published by The Daily News and has acknowledged communicating with our sponsors impacting our ability to make money. A issue we will eventually discuss in court.

Now…why does this matter?

The Vibe has obtained text messages involving Commissioner Adam Petersen from a source, messages he has since confirmed directly in communication with me. While the source will remain confidential, the content raises legitimate concerns. When an elected official communicates in a way that reflects judgment of others while holding public influence, character and accountability matter. These are not minor concerns. They are issues that warrant public scrutiny as the hypocrisy will be displayed. Private or otherwise, this should show his false morals he holds others too.

I am not an elected official, I’m a comedian and entertainer, public officials are held to a higher standard. If Commissioner Petersen is unwilling to accept that level of accountability, resignation is a reasonable option. It is also fair to ask whether someone in his position should be judging the character of others while facing serious questions about his own conduct.

There are also these troubling issues of sharing inappropriate images of someone, was it vengeful? Regardless of legality, the ethical implications alone raise concerns about judgment and leadership. Public trust requires more than simply avoiding legal consequences.

Despite these challenges, it is important to separate individuals from institutions. Many public servants, including local firefighters and emergency personnel, continue to demonstrate professionalism, dedication, and courage. Their work speaks for itself and stands apart from the disputes created by those in positions of authority.

At its core, this account reflects ongoing concerns about the concentration of influence within a small network of individuals and the consequences faced by those who challenge it. Whether it is through corrupt appointments or interference in community initiatives, the pattern raises serious questions about fairness, transparency and accountability in Montcalm County.

Criticism carries weight only when applied consistently. Judging others while engaging in questionable behavior erodes credibility and public trust.

These events represent my documented perspective, grounded in direct experience. In any community, progress depends on the willingness to question systems, examine decisions and ensure that power is exercised responsibly.

We are advising those who support such a man that they may risk their own public humiliation as we will seek to expose the lives of those who support/voted for him in any way shape or form, the way he may have exposed himself in pictures to some other men's wives allegedly. Come get some...Take a look at this, if we can expose the powerful, imagine what we can expose about you. Good luck to his supporters having us digging in your life. Supporting Adam Petersen in any way shape or form is strictly prohibited and we say it arrogantly. This is just one text, how many more are there?

Might we add, it needs to be discussed why you have seen no mention of these texts in the Daily News? Take all of what you have seen from The Daily News, the certain articles that are free, the way they speak of shady politicians while speaking of their media competitors, is their a conflict of interest? Is there a relationship between Beth Waldon of the Daily News and Adam Petersen that borders on inappropriate? Beth has taken liberties in many of her articles and now we see a fluff piece in the paper in which Adam Petersen is the main focus. It's as if it was a perfectly timed article placed as if he himself is the only person on the seven member board and as if he himself is the reason why you save a few bucks in an instance when they raise your rates elsewhere. Damage control for his very obvious disgusting texts?

We would love to see texts between Beth and Adam, wouldn't you? Maybe we have obtained some. For the record we have no idea who the person is in the photo in the text chain and we have no interest in such. We do know who they were speaking to. It is also covered up entirely because to be blunt, who and what it is in the photo, is irrelevant. Though Adam is descriptive and vile, this is about exposing corrupt, shady and morally impure politicians and their supporters and enablers. Voters must know the ways of the people they elect. It is incumbent on us and our job to report such news in such context.
